Runs for 4 days over the August Bank Holiday weekend
The Mid-Norfolk Railways beer festival has been a must attend event since 2012, we are pleased to announce it will be returning for the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2024. We are bringing in real ales and ciders and from around the country, as well as local breweries.
Sponsorship
We will be inviting local businesses, breweries and individuals the chance to sponsor casks of beer and cider, live music and on train bars. Details to be announced shortly.

Bars & Train Services
Diesel trains will operate on Friday, with a mixture of Steam and Diesel trains all day and evening Saturday & Sunday, and during they day on Bank Holiday Monday. Trains marked Loco will be Steam or Diesel hauled and other trains will be using our Pacer. or Railcar services.
An on train bar is available on most trains.
All our bars operate a Challenge 25 policy. We may ask you for ID at anytime and we reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcohol. The MNR will not tolerate abuse of any kind to our staff or volunteers.

BARS
The main bar at Dereham will be open Friday - Monday 11am - 11pm (8pm close Monday).
There will also be a smaller bar at Thuxton Station and one other location which will be open during hours trains are running.
Most trains will have an on train bar.
How it works:
Like many other similar events, drink sales will be by token. All bars will accept tokens, including on train bars.
You can purchase a set of Beer Tokens. This is by far the cheapest way to buy your drinks over the weekend. Present your tokens and cup at any bar to exchange Beer or Cider.
On The Day:
Starter Packs cost £15 include a souvenir Pint Cup to keep.
Tokens cost £12 per set.
Live Music
A Selection of live music will be available over the weekend, details to be announced.

Fares
Tickets can be bought at either Dereham or Wymondham Abbey station, if you are boarding at either Yaxham, Thuxton or Kimberley Park tickets can be bought on the train.

**Please note that the Mid-Norfolk Railway do operate a Challenge 25 policy and reserves the right to ask for Photo Identification/proof of date of birth. The Mid-Norfolk Railway also reserves the right to not serve alcohol to anyone it believes is below 18 years old, no refund will be made in this case. The Mid-Norfolk Railway will not tolerate any abuse or violence towards its staff members at any time.
***The Mid-Norfolk Railway are unable to offer any cancellations, refunds or reschedules to any orders, therefore please ensure you can attend the date/time you select before you make payment and book. By making a booking you agree that you shall not take on board the carriage any alcoholic drinks or illegal substances.
